Box Score Greensboro, NC -- Guilford's fourth-seeded women's soccer team extended its school-record unbeaten streak to 13 games with a 1-0 victory Saturday over Randolph-Macon, the fifth seed, in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarterfinals. The ODAC Tournament win was Guilford's first since joining the conference in 1991. Prior to Saturday, Guilford had a 0-13 record in the tournament and had scored only two goals in those games.
In the 65th minute of the game, sophomore forward Caryn Stone executed a give-and-go with classmate Jennah Carter in the penalty area and scored on a strike from eight yards out.
Randolph-Macon (13-5-1, 7-5 ODAC) appeared to have tied the game in the 75th minute during a flurry of action in front of Guilford's goal. After the referees huddled, however, the goal was disallowed because a Randolph-Macon player was offside.
The Quakers (12-7-2, 8-2-2 ODAC) have now defeated Randolph-Macon three consecutive times. Randolph-Macon still leads the all-time series, 15-4.
Guilford will face top-seeded Lynchburg on Friday, November 5 in the ODAC Semi-finals.
