Guilford Volleyball Falls at Randolph-Macon and to Catholic

Ashland, VA-- Guilford's volleyball team fell to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Randolph-Macon, 3-0, and dropped a 3-0 nonleague decision to Catholic Saturday at Crenshaw Gym.

Randolph-Macon (19-3, 7-1 ODAC) made quick work of the Quakers (6-16, 1-5 ODAC), 30-11, 30-7, 30-18. Freshman setter Becca Jones paced the Quakers with 10 assists. Freshman Emily Becher made seven kills and added 10 digs. Jessica Smith had five kills.

 

In the second match, Catholic prevailed, 31-29, 30-18, 30-24. The loss extended Guilford's losing streak to six. Jones had 32 assists, 11 digs and four kills. Rookie middle hitter Brittani Leathern chipped in 16 kills and Becher added 17 putaways, plus 23 digs. Kaci Loeffler made a team-high 18 digs.

 

The Quakers return to action Tuesday (10/18) against ODAC-rival Randolph-Macon Woman's College at 7:00 p.m. in Guilford's Ragan-Brown Field House.
