Greensboro, NC (9/10/05) -- Guilford College's volleyball team suffered its first losses of the season Friday and Saturday at the Greensboro College Tournament. Meredith improved to 3-0 with a 3-1 victory over the Quakers in the day's first game. The scores of the match were: 30-19, 29-31, 30-21, 30-15.

Emory & Henry posted a 30-26, 30-11, 30-17 win in the Quakers' second match of the day. The Wasps are now 4-2.  Greensboro downed Guilford in the final match Saturday morning 30-21, 30-13, 30-25.  The Pride improve to 7-0.

In the Meredith match, Emily Becher paced the Quakers with 17 kills and Brittani Leathern added 11 putaways. Kaci Loeffler added 12 kills and 13 digs and Casey Lockhart added seven pickups. Taylor Brown had 38 assists in her collegiate debut at setter. She replaced injured starter Becca Jones. Jessica Smith also had eight assists.

Becher tallied eight kills and 11 digs in the night's second match. Smith added 10 digs and Loeffler contributed four kills and five digs. Brown dished out 11 assists.
