GREENSBORO, NC (1/15/06) --  Shannon Scales scored a game-high 23 points and Katy Herr added 20 in visiting Bridgewater's 77-61 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over Guilford Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles (10-4, 8-1 ODAC) held an 18-point halftime lead thanks in part to Scales' 15 first-half points. The Quakers (3-10, 2-6 ODAC) mounted a comeback in the second half behind freshman Heather Koehler's career-high 18 points, all of which came in the second stanza. Her follow basket with 7:25 left in the game brought Guilford to within 58-52.

The Eagles answered with a 15-2 run over the next five minutes that put the game away. Herr tallied 12 of her 20 points in the second half.

Marsha Kinder overcame a poor shooting night to finish with 18 points. Herr led Bridgewater with seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Scales had six boards and knocked down five-of-10 three-pointers.

Koehler added eight rebounds to her career-best scoring night for Guilford. Rookie Kristine Ellis chipped in 13 points and nine boards. Jennifer King had 12 points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals. Brittany Bumgarner matched her career high with 11 points.

Guilford visits Emory & Henry Wednesday (1/18) at 7:00 p.m. Bridgewater hosts Eastern Mennonite Saturday (1/21) at 4:30 p.m.
