The Quakers overcame a poor opening half in which they made nine-of-33 field goals (27.3%) and fell behind by 34-24 at halftime. Two Lauren Habel free throws gave the Wasps a 43-28 lead with 15:53 remaining, which matched their largest lead of the game.

Guilford answered with a decisive 23-2 run over the next 6:20 to turn their 15-point deficit into a six-point advantage with 9:33 left to play. Rookie guard Ann Seufer scored seven points during the run and Croner added six. Shevon Hackett's lay-in with 10:40 left gave Guilford its first lead of the game, 46-45.

The Quakers did not yield the advantage as Croner took over down the stretch. The 5-10 forward scored all 14 Guilford points over a six-minute stretch that built the Quakers' lead to as many as 15. She made seven-of-10 field goals in the second half and all eight free throws. Guilford allowed only four Emory & Henry field goals in the final 17:54 and converted 13 Wasps' turnovers into 20 points.

Croner's 26 points off the bench helped the Quakers' reserves enjoy a 35-15 edge over their Emory & Henry counterparts. Sophomore guard Jessica Casto was the only other Guilford student in double-figure scoring with 13 points. Hackett finished with six points and a game-high nine rebounds, four on the offensive end.

Junior forward Katherine Brandt led Emory & Henry with 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds, but scored only four points in the second half. Habel and junior guard Kiyett Brown added 12 points apiece.
