Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Brittany Freeman had a match-high 13 kills on .324 hitting and teammate Emma Gunn added 12 kills in Guilford's College's 3-1 victory over visiting Randolph College Thursday night. The scores of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match were: 22-25, 25-15, 25-9, 25-19.
The Quakers' (10-13, 2-6 ODAC) third straight win kept them alive in a bid for the eight-team ODAC Tournament Nov. 6-7 with two conference matches remaining. Randolph slips to 1-22 (0-8 ODAC) with the loss.
Gunn hit a career-high .611 in the match with one error in 18 attempts. Her hitting percentage is Guilford's highest this season. Laura Kopald served up a career-high five aces, another team season high, and added six kills on .308 hitting. Taylor Phillips set up a match-high 32 assists and had seven digs. Bethany Hawks' eight digs led the Quakers.
Randolph's Kristin Spinner shared match-high hitting honors with 13 putaways on .269 hitting. She also picked up a match-high 18 digs. Caroline English totaled six kills, 22 assists and eight digs.
The Quakers return to action Saturday versus league-rival Eastern Mennonite University at 3:00 in Guilford's Ragan-Brown Field House.
