Guilford Downs Greensboro, 3-0, for Third Win Over Pride This Season

GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Anna Miller hit .324 with a match-high 14 kills and 10 digs to lead Guilford College to a 3-0 volleyball win over visiting Greensboro College Wednesday night. The Quakers (7-10) scored a 25-20, 25-21, 25-19 victory in their third win in as many meetings with the Pride this season.  

Miller set the tone early with five kills on .444 hitting in Guilford's 25-20 opening-set victory. Miller had kills on two of the final three points as Guilford won the set's final five points after the score was tied at 20-20.  

The back-and-forth second set was also knotted at 20-20 before the Quakers reeled off five of the set's final six points. Miller had two more kills and scored the decisive point with an ace. Her kill in the third set at 24-21 ended the match.  

Taylor Phillips had a strong game for Guilford with 37 assists with nine digs and a service ace. Emma Gunn hit .583 and added eight kills and four blocks.  

Kaci Hyatt's 11 kills and 14 digs paced Greensboro (4-17). Sha McDuffie added 23 assists and 10 digs.  

The Quakers are back in action Friday (10/9) at North Carolina Wesleyan College at 6:30 p.m.
