Quakers Top Randolph, 76-43

GREENSBORO, N.C. (1/12/10) - Jazlyn Gibbs led four Quakers in double-figure scoring with 15 points in Guilford College's 76-43 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over visiting Randolph College Tuesday night.

Guilford (8-5, 5-3 ODAC) won for the sixth time in eighth games with a strong defensive effort that held the Wildcats (2-11, 1-8 ODAC) to 28.6 percent field-goal shooting. The Quakers forced 31 Randolph turnovers, which led to 34 Guilford points.

Gibbs made five of her first seven shots, including two three-pointers, and had 13 points that helped the host to a 42-22 halftime lead. She also made three steals in the game and led Guilford with four assists. Ann Seufer chipped in 13 points and Lauren LeFevers added 11 points. Freshman Brittany Atwater celebrated her birthday with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists, all career highs.

Lindsay Cross scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for Randolph. Teammate Katie Rechnitzer also scored 14 points. Megan Carney contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Guilford returns to action Friday at 7:00 p.m. against league leader Randolph-Macon College.
