Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. (1/29/10) – Becca Bolton scored 23 of her game-high 31 points in the second half to help Washington and Lee University hold off visiting Guilford College for a 69-66 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball victory Friday night.
The Generals (9-7, 8-4 ODAC) winners of four straight, have won seven of their last eight games.
Bolton also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and made two clinching free throws with four seconds left in the game to provide the game's final margin. Teammate Katy Wilson broke the game's seventh and final tie with 21 seconds remaining by making one of two free throws for a 67-66 Generals' edge.
Wilson made two free throws with 2:41 to play, which opened a seven-point lead for the hosts before Guilford (9-9, 6-7 ODAC) rallied. Jazlyn Gibbs capped a 9-1 Quakers' burst with two free throws that gave the visitors a short-lived 66-65 edge with 47 seconds left.
Guilford's Brittany Atwater led the Quakers with a career-high 19 points, 15 in the second half. Teammate Alexa Williams added 14 points and five boards.
Felice Herman scored 14 points and dished out a game-high five assists for Washington and Lee, which converted 22 Guilford turnovers into 19 points.
