Greensboro, N.C. (9/1/10) -- Brittany Freeman put away a 16 kills and Taylor Phillips added 27 assists as Guilford College's volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 victory in the 2010 season opener for both teams. The Quakers won the first set 25-21 then dropped the next two sets, 25-23 and 25-19. Guilford rebounded for a close 26-24 win in set four before putting away the Avenging Angels 15-11 in the decisive set.

Meredith was led by Mallory Booker's 22 kills and Kara Baughman added 23 assists.

The Quakers return to action Saturday (9/4) at Averett Invitational when they play Austin College at 1:00 p.m. and Roanoke College at 5:00 p.m.
