LEXINGTON, Va. (9/18/10) -- Sophomore midfielder Ainsley Daigle recorded the lone goal in Washington and Lee University's 1-0 soccer victory over Guilford College Saturday. The contest marked both school's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener.

Despite holding a 4-2 advantage in shots and 4-1 edge in corner kicks after 45 minutes, the Generals (2-1-0, 1-0-0 ODAC), the match remained knotted at 0-0 going into the half.

Daigle tallied in the 60th minute, sending a shot past Guilford (3-5-0, 0-1-0 ODAC) junior keeper Kat Adams to put the Generals up, 1-0, securing their first ODAC victory of the season.

For the contest, the Generals held the edge in both shots, 7-5, and corner kicks, 6-1.

Junior keeper Emily Leary played all 90:00 in net, recording three saves en route to the shutout. Adams also played the duration for Guilford, stopping two shots.
