Box Score

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford College overcame a slow first-half start to pull away from visiting Lynchburg College, 64-51, in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball action Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Gabby Oglesby's game-high 23 points and seven rebounds led the way for the Quakers.

Guilford (13-3, 10-1 ODAC) was paced in the first half by Jazlyn Gibbs, who scored 11 of her 18 points, and junior teammate Shelly Barker, who added all four of her assists in the period.

Lynchburg (4-11, 3-7 ODAC) kept the game close behind Katie Reeves' 10 first-half points.  Neither team led by more than four points in the first half, which ended with Guilford in front, 26-24.

The Quakers came out quickly in the second half and outscored Hornets 19-9 over the first eight minutes of the period. A three-pointer by Lynchburg's Roslyn Alexander cut Guilford's lead to six points with eight minutes remaining, but the Hornets would get no closer.

Guilford junior Brittany Atwater had 13 points and a game-high six assists to help spark the offense.  Teammate Jaclyn Nucci finished with two points, but had a game-high eight rebounds. The Quakers finished the game shooting 43.1 percent from the field.

Reeves finished the game with 13 points for the Hornets.  Lynchburg also had strong performances from Shannon Allan, who had a team-high 17 points and seven rebounds, and Carly Greenlief, who scored 10 points.  The Hornets finished the game shooting just 34 percent from the field.
