Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. - Brittany Drew paced three Quakers in double-figure scoring with 12 points in Guilford College's 65-43 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win at Washington and Lee University Wednesday.
The Quakers (5-1, 1-1 ODAC) led, 30-26, at the end of a tightly played first half, but clamped down defensively in the second half. Guilford held the host Generals (2-4, 1-2 ODAC) to 35 percent field-goal shooting in the second half and forced 11 of Washington and Lee's 21 turnovers. The Quakers' defense sparked a 17-2 run over a seven-minute stretch, which opened a 60-39 edge with 3:35 left in regulation. The Generals did not convert a field goal during the run.
Gabby Oglesby and Kayla Adams both finished with 10 points for Guilford. Logan Hardin added four points and a team-high six rebounds. The Quakers enjoyed a 35-26 edge in rebounds and collected 15 offensive boards, which led to 17 second-chance points.
Samantha Sharman scored a game-high 14 points off the bench for Washington and Lee.
Guilford entertains North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday (12/7) at 2:00 p.m. in a nonconference game.
