Lynchburg Posts 3-0 Volleyball Win Over Visting Guilford

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Ariquel Payne had a match-high 11 kills in Lynchburg College's 3-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over visiting Guilford Saturday afternoon. The Hornets (13-10, 6-3 ODAC) prevailed, 25-18, 25-9, 25-17, for their fifth win in six matches.

Payne hit .429 for the match and added nine digs, three service aces and three blocks. Teammate Amanda Perry contributed six kills and three more aces. The Hornets had 13 aces to the Quakers' three. Lara Payne chipped in with five kills and no errors in eight attempts. Sam Page paced the defense with a match-best 10 digs.

Guilford's Taylor Creed and Kelsey Ruehling shared the team's top hitting honors with six kills apiece. Casey Davis made eight assists and seven digs.

Coach Emily Gann's club (6-14, 2-5 ODAC) returns home to face league-rival Emory & Henry College Thursday (10/23) at 6:30 p.m.
