Baggett Scores Twice in Quakers' Victory at Hollins

ROANOKE, Va.---Guilford College used a balanced effort to earn a Wednesday afternoon Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's soccer victory over Hollins University, 8-0.

In the first half, Guilford (1-11-1, 1-5 ODAC) built a 3-0 lead thanks to two scores in 67 seconds to close the first half.  The Quakers tallied four times in a span of just over five and a half minutes widen their margin to 7-0.  Guilford extended its run with only 11 second-half shots after firing 37 shots in the first stanza.

Nicki Baggett led the Quakers with two goals, including the game's first goal in the seventh minute.  Baggett's second goal came in the 54th minute from Morgan Henderson.

Henderson, along with Luci Gordon, Truman Sherwood, and Cassie Vaughn, added one goal and an assist apiece. Kelli Uresti and Alessandra Belmonte also scored.

The Quakers outshot Hollins (0-6, 0-10 ODAC), 48-0, while earning the edge on corner kicks, 8-0.

Caitlin Young earned the victory in net for the Quakers.  Hollins' Megan McKee made 22 saves.

Guilford returns to action Saturday, hosting Shenandoah University for a 1 p.m. ODAC contest.
