GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford College's Anais Weatherly amassed her eighth double-double of the season as the Quakers claimed a Saturday evening Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over Shenandoah University, 68-51.

Both sides remained tied, 4-4, after the first five minutes of the first quarter, but the Quakers (12-2, 5-1 ODAC) warmed up as Guilford produced an 8-0 run lasting a 3:25 span in the latter stage of the opening period. Weatherly produced nine points and eight rebounds in the first quarter as Guilford held the Hornets to only three field goals and 16.7 percent shooting. Shenandoah held the lead down early in the second quarter, cutting the advantage to seven points in the opening seconds of the period, but the Quakers grew their lead as large as 17 points with 1:34 left in the period. Weatherly closed the half with 15 points and ten rebounds.

After Kirstyn Arcata opened the third period with a three-pointer, the Quakers produced another 8-0 run to widen the lead to 22 points with 5:50 left in the quarter. Guilford's lead grew as large as 23 points in the period to close the period, their largest lead of the game. With reserves in the contest for Guilford, the Quakers maintained the large margin early, but Shenandoah held the Quakers without a bucket for a 3:32 span of the early fourth quarter while the Hornets produced a 10-4 run to cut the lead as low as 15 points. Guilford pulled away as the Quakers extended the lead back to 20 points with 2:43 left in the quarter to seal the victory.

Weatherly finished the evening with 17 points and 12 rebounds while shooting eight-of-14 from the field. Heaven Walters represented the remaining Quaker in double-figure scoring with 11 points on four-of-five shooting while pulling down seven rebounds.  Guilford's bench held a decisive advantage over the Hornets, 25-4.

Shannon Kuhn led the Hornets with 16 points on five-of-15 shooting, the lone Hornet in double-figure scoring. Olivia Callan added nine points and four assists.

The Quakers shot 47.5 percent from the field, including a blistering nine-of-14 (64.3 percent) in the second quarter and 50 percent in the third frame. Shenandoah shot 26.1 percent from the field, which rose in the fourth quarter thanks to a 38.9 percent effort.

Guilford held a large advantage on the glass, out-rebounding the Hornets, 51-34. The Quakers held the edge in second-chance points, 16-9. Guilford's transition offense dominated, holding a crushing advantage in fast break points, 16-0. The Quakers also dominated the interior offense, out-scoring the Hornets in the paint, 44-18.
