GREENSBORO, N.C. – Amanda Dionne scored three of her game-high four goals in the second half of Guilford College's comeback win over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC)-rival Lynchburg College Wednesday night.

The Quakers (4-5, 1-0 ODAC) won for the fourth time in five games despite trailing by as many as three in the first half. Guilford's Madison Iandoli scored a free-position goal to make it a 7-5 game at halftime after Lynchburg (5-3, 1-1 ODAC) led 6-3 and 7-4.

Iandoli's goal triggered a decisive 7-1 spurt that spanned the two halves. Dionne tallied three times during the run and assisted on a Summer Fowler goal with 23:50 left that tied the score at 8-8. Dionne scored from one of Deming Carlow's four assists to put the Quakers in front for the first time at the 21:25 mark. Taylor Campellone followed with an improbable goal with her back to the cage 66 seconds later, and Iandoli capped the run with her third and final tally with 19:49 to play.

Lynchburg responded with an Alicia Sandoval score with 15:33 left and Dorrie MacGregor brought the Hornets to within 11-10 with 14:13 remaining. Guilford's Fowler and Campellone answered, however, which restored a 13-10 margin with 8:17 to play.

The Hornets took their third and final timeout, won the ensuing draw and put a shot on goal, but Quakers' netminder Sammi Milbourn stood tall as she did for much of the night. The senior finished with 14 saves and three ground balls in 60 active minutes in and out of goal.

Lynchburg rallied late as MacGregor fired home two free-position goals in the final minute. The second provided the game's final margin with 13 seconds left. The Hornets won the ensuing draw and drew a card on Campellone with five seconds left.  Meisner's last-second shot from some distance was easily snared by Milbourn as the final horn sounded.

Despite being outshot 29-19 and converting only 11-of-25 clear attempts, the Quakers prevailed by controlling the tempo and accurate shooting. Guilford won 10-of-13 second-half draws, which provided critical possessions after goals, and put 17 of their 19 shots on goal. Dionne's five points paced a balanced scoring effort. Fowler and Iandoli both finished with three scores and Campellone tallied twice. Dionne made a game-best seven draw controls. Fowler added six ground balls, two draws and three caused turnovers to her solid all-around night.

Lynchburg's Sidney Gleason scored four points on two goals and two assists, but did not score in the game's final 44 minutes. MacGregor and Alicia Sandoval both scored three times and Meisner contributed two goals and an assist in her homecoming. Lynchburg held a 29-19 edge in shots and forced 24 Quakers' turnovers.
