HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set began all in favor of Washington and Lee as it scored the first six points. Despite trailing from the jump, Guilford was able to battle back and took the lead with an attack error, 17-16. GC was forced to call a timeout at 20-18 after four straight points from W&L. The visitors ended the set with a kill, 25-20.
Set two started off with Guilford receiving a point from a bad set. Washington and Lee snuck up and scored the next five points putting them in the lead, 5-1. Cydney Scott came up with a good kill for the Quakers to help them battle within three, 6-3. In the middle of the set, Guilford was forced to use a timeout after an attack error by Maddi Page, made the score 11-5. Washington and Lee ended the set, 25-8 on a Guilford attack error.
Set three began a little differently compared to the first two sets. Scott put the first point on the board with a powerful kill followed by a Generals' attack error and a Devyn Norman service ace, to lead 3-0. W&L was able to put a point up with a kill by Syndey Heifner followed by Carson Allsteadt. The pair traded points, battling to a 9-9 tie at one point. Trailing 19-12, Norman and Kaitlyn Kelley went up for a block that made their bench erupt in excitement. Despite the Quakers' best efforts, they dropped the set 25-13.
TOP PERFORMING QUAKERS

Cydney Scott led her team offensively with eight kills. Scott also pitched in defensively with 13 digs, while contributing one assist.

Kaitlyn Kelley recorded five kills and two block assists.

Maddi Page had a team-best 12 assists,adding to her season total of 299 season assists.

Rookie Devyn Norman had the squad's only service aces of the evening (2).

Norman along with Page, Kelley, Adison Needham and Vanessa Johnson each went up for two block assists.
WHAT'S NEXT
Guilford will remain at home as it is scheduled to host the ODAC Quad on Saturday with contests with Bridgewater (12 pm) and Eastern Mennonite (2 pm). Randolph will be the fourth team in the Quad Match.
