GC Takes Over Early Against Brevard

The Guilford College men's lacrosse team traveled to Brevard College to battle the Tornados. The Quakers defeated the Tornados with an offensive performance, 22-3. 

Guilford opened the scoring within the first three minutes by Andrew Burch and continued to score two additional goals by Seth Woods and Gavin Brown. With two minutes on clock, Gabe Alvarez found the back of the net and scored a man up goal, 4-1.

Brown opened the second quarter by increasing their lead. After not scoring for eight minutes, the Quakers added to their lead by Cam Walter's goal, assisted by Aimery Workman. 
 
To end the first half, Joe Hirvonen scored back-to-back with :04 on the clock followed by a buzzer beater. Both goals were assisted by Gabe Alvarez, as Guilford led 8-1.  

The Quakers scored a total of two goals in the third with help from Hirvonen and Brown. Brevard was able to put another one on the board at the eight minute mark.

For the remainder of the contest, Guilford scored 12-straight  to take total control of the game. The hosts scored the last goal but fell by 19 goals.

Hirvonen finished the evening with six goals on nine shots on goals. Brown followed behind with five goals and four assists.  Gavin Dellinger tallied a total of five saves. 

Guilford is set to travel to William Peace University on Wednesday, March 15. Start time is 6:00pm.
