The Guilford College men's soccer team hit the road to face William Peace University. After being tied at the half, a goal in the second gave the hosts the 2-1 victory.
William Peace controlled possession in the early part of first half. In the 11th minute, the Pacers found the back of the net for the early advantage.
At this point, play began to even out between the two squads. William Peace made an error by committing a foul in the 36th minute that warranted a penalty kick.
Chris Hercules buried the opportunity for Guilford and tied the game at one. The score remained this way until halftime.
In the second half, the Pacers wasted little time as they scored just over three minutes in to recapture the lead. The Quakers only got one shot off for the remainder of the half and ultimately fell by the one-goal difference.
Guilford totaled three shots on goal and five corners while William Peace tallied nine in both categories.
Logan Walker made seven saves as he played the full 90 minutes in net.
The men's soccer team remains on the road on Sunday, September 10 as they travel to North Carolina Wesleyan University. Start time is set for 3:00 p.m.
