Lynchburg Beats Guilford, 4-1, In ODAC Men's Soccer

Greensboro, NC (09/27/00) — Senior forward Liam Dawson (Townbridge, Kent/St. Gregory's) scored two second-half goals and assisted on another in visiting Lynchburg's 4-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's soccer win over Guilford Wednesday.

Moments after Dawson broke a 1-1 tie, Quakers freshman goaltender Ryan Fitzgibbons (Dayville, CT/Killingly) picked up consecutive yellow cards after a collision and was ejected from the contest. He also received a broken nose on the play. Dawson greeted freshman netminder Peter Ferrante (Wilmington, DE/St. Marks School) with his second goal of the day in the 55th minute.

Lynchburg sophomore forward Keith Doubman (Bryn Mawr, PA/Harriton) closed out the scoring in the 88th minute with a transition goal off a Dawson assist.

Junior defenseman Ben Angle (Manakin Sabot, VA/Governor's School) put the Hornets on the board in the third minute after he headed in a corner kick by senior forward Chris Chumley (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air). The Quakers answered midway through the period on a 17-yard blast by rookie forward Tim Imafidon (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest-Rolesville), his team-leading eighth goal of the season.
