LYNCHBURG, Va. – Guilford College's tennis teams swept both men's and women's matches at Randolph College Saturday. The Quakers' men shutout the Wildcats, 9-0, while Guilford's women overcame two forfeited matches for a 6-3 victory.
Guilford's women (5-7, 3-3 ODAC) ended a three-match losing skid. The Quakers' Mackey Wesner and Natalie Sutton pulled out an 8-6 win at first doubles over Randolph's Lori Gerlach and Shantel Rivera. Gerlach scored a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Wesner at first singles, but Guilford lost just three points in the four remaining singles matches. The Quakers played with five healthy competitors Saturday and forfeited matches at third doubles and sixth singles.
The Quakers' women visit Sweet Briar College Apr. 1 in an ODAC contest.
