Second-half Rally Pushes Catholic Past Quakers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University of America's Mike Narzikul tallied three points as Guilford College dropped a Saturday afternoon contest to Catholic, 3-0.The Cardinals held a strong offensive advantage early, firing 13 consecutive shots throughout the half. Catholic held a 16-1 shot advantage in the first half, but the Quakers held the Cardinals scoreless throughout the half. After the Quakers pressed the Cardinals with two shots on goal to start the second half, Catholic's Nick Joesten received a Narzikul short cross inside the six-yard box to score the first goal of the contest in the 53rd minute. Narizikul provided insurance for the Cardinals in the 76th minutes when Corbin Brailsford sent an inside pass to Narzikul to claim a 2-0 lead. 1:33 later, Stephen Heintz fed Brian Galfond to increase the Cardinals' lead. Catholic kept the shot advantage for the entire match, finishing with a 28-10 edge as the Quakers totaled nine second-half shots. The Cardinals also held the edge on corner kicks, 8-3.  Eric Hayes made eight saves in net for the Quakers.
