The Guilford College women's tennis team faced the Methodist University Monarchs in the first match of the 2023 campaign. The Quakers fell to the Monarchs, 8-0.

In doubles action, Methodist was able to capture first and second pairings by the score of 8-0.

Hannah Pardue in first singles pushed the match to a third set. Pardue fell in the first set, 6-4, before capturing the second, 6-2. In the third, Luciana Forma of the Monarchs won 10-7 to claim the match.

Second singles was very similar as Ashley Belnap dropped the first 7-5 and followed it up with a 6-4 win. The third and final set was very similar to first singles as Methodist won 10-7.

The Quakers dropped the third, fourth and fifth singles in straight sets.

Guilford is set to travel to Pfeiffer University on Sunday, February 26. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
