The Guilford College women's tennis team faced the Alma College Scots. The Quakers fell to the Scots, 7-2.
After dropping first and third doubles, the pairing of
Hannah Pardue and
Nya Reed pushed the opponents to the edge. Unfortunately, the duo fell 9-7.
In singles action,
Yasmine Elabdellaoui and
Nya Reed fell in straight sets. At second singles,
Ashley Belnap dropped the first set 6-1 but battled in the second to force a tiebreaker. Ultimately, Belnap fell in the tiebreaker, 7-2, and the set, 7-6.
Pardue took court for first singles and had a strong showing with a straight-set win by the scores of 6-2.
Jolie Nhouyvanisvong won her first set 7-5 before dropping the second 6-4. A super tiebreaker in the third was a back-and-forth affair before Nhouyvanisvong won 10-8.
Guilford will host Hollins University on Tuesday, March 7 with a 3:00 p.m. start.
