GREENSBORO, N.C. - Chrisbel Alcantara (San Juan, P.R.) led the charge earning team-high 14.0 points for Guilford College in the sweep against Warren Wilson College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-21) on Monday night on Jack Jensen Court in the Ragan-Brown Field House.

Guilford now stands at a record of 4-9 and Warren Wilson drops to a 2-13 record for the season.

Standout performances for Guilford included Alcantara with game-high 14 kills, Vanessa Johnson (Charlotte, N.C.) came just 0.5 points short of matching her season-high of 11.5 points, tallying nine kills, and Natalie Moore (Talbott, Tenn.) flexing her defensive abilities with ten digs. Contributors for Warren Wilson were KJ Helinsky with team-high nine kills paired with five digs, Vera Pandolfo who finished with 14 assists, and Josie McCoy ended the night with 15 digs.

Set one was in control of the Quakers as Alcantara made her presence known by earning four kills in this single set. Kaci Johnson (Winterville, N.C.) delivered a monster kill, followed by two consecutive kills from Alcantara, pushing their lead to 11-7. After a few errors and a kill from Aubrie Wachacha, Guilford was inspired to make a 13-3 run, thanks to Owl errors and kills from Page alongside Johnson & Johnson. Guilford took the first set, 25-14.

During set two, four kills came from Vanessa Johnson alone. GC went on the attack, sparked by a 4-0 and 7-0 run with contributions from Kaci Johnson, Page, aces, and Owl attacking errors. Samantha Daniels and Pandora Keele tried to keep Warren Wilson afloat, but were dominated by Guilford in the set win with a score of 25-10.

The Owls and Quakers were evenly matched at the start of the set, thanks to Helinsky, who recorded four kills in set three, along with the pressure applied by Daniels and Keele. Alcantara brought the heat with three kills in a row before Page and Johnson & Johnson added fuel to the fire with kills of their own. Attacking errors and kills from Alaina Castengera and Daniels shifted the momentum to Guilford. A 6-0 run followed, due to aces, Warren Wilson's errors, and kills from Alcantara and Haley Pasour (Winterville, N.C.).The Quakers overpowered the Owls in every statistical category as a team. Guilford was victorious over Warren Wilson, claiming the set 25-21 and walked away with their second sweep of the season.
