ROANOKE, VA. - Zoe Bayer (Les Sables d'Olonne, France), Courtney McMillan (Lexington, N.C.), and Markayla Massenburg (Raleigh, N.C.) impress as the Guilford College women's basketball team (13-8, 7-5 ODAC) crushed Hollins University (10-9, 4-8 ODAC), 77-54 in the Main Gymnasium on Wednesday night. The victory marked the Quakers' 63rd win in the series against Hollins, improving their overall record to 63-3.

Stars for GC included Bayer, who scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, remained perfect from beyond the arc, and dished out four assists. McMillan contributed a baker's dozen in points, grabbed four rebounds, went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line, and added career-high four assists. Massenburg also made an impact, posting a season-high ten points and remaining flawless from the field in 16 minutes of play.

Key performers for the home team included Missy Hazard, who led all scorers with 16 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the field, 40% from three, and grabbing two steals. Sarah Morales also made an impact for Hollins, contributing ten points, five rebounds, and four assists in 27 minutes.

Guilford opened the first quarter with a 14-0 run fueled by Carleigh Perry's (Faith, N.C.) fastbreak three, McMillan's jumper, and Bayer's triple. Perry and Bayer's defensive pressure led to multiple steals, while Massenburg contributed six points off the bench. Taylor Dunn (Charlotte, N.C.) also sank a key three during the stretch. Hollins responded with a 9-4 run, highlighted by Noelani Carter, Morales, and a three-pointer from Hazard. Ariana Gutierrez's late three and Carter's three-point play narrowed the gap to 22-19, but McMillan's layup in the final seconds secured Guilford a 24-19 lead.

In the second, GC maintained their momentum, opening with a 9-0 scoring run powered by Bayer's three-pointer and McMillan's free throws. Julianna Walter 's(Taylorsville, N.C.) fastbreak layup extended Guilford's lead to 31-19, and their defense continued to frustrate Hollins, forcing multiple turnovers. Hollins fought back with a 6-2 run led by Morales' jumper and a fastbreak layup from Mutz, narrowing the deficit to 33-25. However, Guilford responded with a dominant 15-3 run. Despite a late free throw from Mutz for Hollins, GC closed the half with Perry's jumper, finishing 48-26.
