Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (9/20/06) -- Will Robbins' converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute to break a 1-1 tie and lift visiting Hampden-Sydney to a 2-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference soccer win over Guilford Wednesday. The win improves the Tigers' overall record to 5-1-1 (1-0 ODAC) and drops the Quakers to 2-3-1 (0-2 ODAC).
Robbins' winning goal was set up when teammate Ian Ciejak was tackled by a Guilford defender inside the box. Robbins' shot beat Guilford goalie Zane Campbell into the top left corner of the goal.
The Tigers scored the match's first goal in the 26th minute when Jason Powell served a ball from the top of the box.to a cutting Greg Smith, who headed it past Campbell from close range. The Quakers tied the match eight minutes later on substitute Emmanuel Ukattah's goal off a long cross by Scott Meguid).
Both teams recorded 13 shots. Hampden-Sydney keeper Ben Marchetti made three saves, while Guilford's Campbell had one stop.
The Quakers return to action Saturday at Division II Mount Olive at 4:00 p.m.
