Box Score

SWEET BRIAR, Va. – E'leyna Garcia scored five goals and an assist in Guilford College's storm-shortened 16-9 lacrosse win at Sweet Briar College. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest was played in rain and eventually stopped 18:04 into the second half due to thunder in the area.

The teams played to an 8-8 draw 15:24 into the game before Guilford (6-10, 5-4 ODAC) pulled away with a 6-1 run to end the first half. Garcia and Summer Frazier both scored twice in that time. Frazier's goals came in the half's final minute and gave Guilford a 14-9 halftime lead. The Quakers' Shannon Kandola and Kathryn Carella opened the second half scoring before the game was called.

Frazier and Kaitlin Feeney both scored three times in Guilford's regular-season finale. Sarah Bradburd chipped in with two scores and Liza Mettler made 11 saves in goal.

Sam Schwartz' three goals led the Vixens (5-10-1, 2-7 ODAC). Stewart Hulfish had a game-high four assists.

Guilford has the fifth seed for the upcoming Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament and play at fourth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday (4/30) at 1:00 p.m.
