GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford College's (1-0) women's tennis team opened the spring season with a convincing 9-0 win over Greensboro College (0-3) Wednesday at the McMichael Centennial Class Courts.
Haley Andrews pulled out a 7-6, 6-1 win over Greensboro's LeeAnna Robertson at first singles and teamed with Allison Hewitt for an 8-1 victory at first doubles. Sophomore Fernanda Gonzalez and freshman Madison Giles won at second and third singles, respectively, in straight sets. They also teamed for the second-doubles triumph.
Coach Dave McCain's Quakers host Methodist University Saturday (2/22) at 2:30 p.m. and Hollins University Sunday (2/23) at 2:00 p.m.
