LYNCHBURG, Va. – Randolph College won its sixth straight match Saturday with a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over visiting Guilford College.
The WildCats (8-5) moved into fourth place in the conference standings with a 6-1 record. Guilford fell to 2-10 (0-8 ODAC).
Randolph took an early 3-0 with wins in the three doubles matches. Hayley Ashford and Ranita Popku-Sarfo blanked the Quakers' Megan Kimpel and Dakota McLean, 8-0, in the third flight. Keyu Jin and Ashley Schmitz handled the Quakers' Makayla McLaurin and Delaney Taylor at first doubles, 8-1. The most competitive doubles match was the second-doubles contest where Jordan Kirkpatrick and Savana Marta doubled up the Quakers' Olivia La Ganza and Mackenzie Calton, 8-4.
The WildCats cruised through the six singles matches with straight-set wins in each contest. The Quakers won only four games in singles play. Jin blanked McLaurin, 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. Schmitz topped Taylor in the second flight by the same score.
