FOREST, Va. – Maggie Hartnett (Hebron, Maine) concluded her collegiate career, earning Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) recognition, representing the Guilford College women's lacrosse team on the All-ODAC Second Team, as announced by the conference offices on Tuesday afternoon.
It stands as a landmark honor for one of the most accomplished Quakers in the history of the women's lacrosse program as she becomes the first GC women's lacrosse player named all-conference since 2019 and the first on the second team or better since 2016.
It is a well-earned distinction for the graduate student as she appeared in 16 of GC's 17 contests making 15 starts, leading the team in most major statistics. One of the top all-around players in the ODAC for the past few seasons, Hartnett stands fourth in the conference in points with 71 on the year at the conclusion of the ODAC Tournament, a number that is tied for seventh-most in program history and presently stands 159
th nationally. It works out to a 4.44 points per game that is also fourth in the league and 114
th in the nation. She reached that mark with balance as her goals tally of 43 ranks seventh in the conference and her assists total of 28 is good for third in the league and 128
th nationally, as well as fifth in program-history. On a game-by-game average, her 1.75 assists per contest are good for 112
th in the NCAA Division-III ranks. Those figures make Hartnett one-of-three players in the ODAC who rank within the top-ten in both goals scored and assists. Also a force defensively, Hartnett forced 1.75 turnovers per game this season for GC, accumulating 28 total, tied for eighth-most in program history over 16 contests. That mark is good for a rank of fifth in the league and 173
rd in the nation thus far. Hartnett's 39 groundballs this season led Guilford field players while she netted a trio of game-winning tallies across the team's five wins. Clearly a team-focus this season, Hartnett also personified the Quakers' brilliantly improved work on free-positions, converting on a team-leading 12 free-position shots at a .667 percentage, second-best in the ODAC and 22
nd-best in the nation.
As a team, Guilford matched their 2024 wins total, finishing 5-12 and 2-8 in ODAC play, and while those totals did not increase, it is worth noting that anecdotally, the Quakers appeared to make great strides on the season and project to return a vast majority of their roster in 2026.
